AWeber Review (2026): Lite or Plus, and What Each Costs

Published Sep 3, 2026Prices checked Sep 22, 2026

AWeber is a solid choice for a business that needs several people and several lists on one account, because its Plus plan includes unlimited users, lists, automations and segments. Its cheaper Lite plan is a different product in practice — one list, three automations, three users — and a growing business can outgrow it quickly.

We did not run campaigns through AWeber for this review. It is based on AWeber's pricing and plan-comparison page, read on 22 September 2026, and on what that page commits to in writing.

AWeber's plans at a glance

AWeber sells two self-serve plans, Lite and Plus, plus a Done For You service that sets the account up for you. Both self-serve plans are priced by subscriber count and cap monthly sends as a multiple of it.

  • Lite: $15 a month on monthly billing for up to 500 subscribers, or $12.49 a month billed annually. Sends up to 10× your subscriber count a month. One email list, three landing pages, three email automations, three users, one custom segment.
  • Plus: $30 a month on monthly billing for up to 500 subscribers, or $19.99 a month billed annually. Sends up to 12× your subscriber count. Unlimited lists, landing pages, automations, segments and users, priority support and advanced reporting.
  • Done For You: $20 a month billed annually for the Plus feature set plus a setup service, with a one-off setup fee that was discounted when we checked.

What AWeber costs as your list grows

AWeber publishes a full price grid, which makes it easy to see the bill at any size. On monthly billing, Lite costs $25 at 1,000 subscribers, $60 at 5,000, $210 at 25,000 and $600 at 100,000. Plus costs $45, $90, $250 and $750 at the same sizes.

Lite Plus

1,000subscribers$25$45 +$20
5,000subscribers$60$90 +$30
25,000subscribers$210$250 +$40
100,000subscribers$600$750 +$150

The annual grid is printed as yearly totals: Lite at 5,000 subscribers is $600 a year and Plus $900; at 100,000, Lite is $6,000 a year and Plus $7,500. Divided by twelve, that is $50 and $75 a month at 5,000.

Notice how the gap between the plans narrows. At 1,000 subscribers Plus costs $20 a month more than Lite; at 25,000 it costs $40 more; at 100,000, $150 more. For a larger list, the extra for unlimited everything is proportionally small, and Plus is the better buy.

Lite's limits in practice

Lite's caps bite on structure, not on volume. One email list means every subscriber lives in one place and you separate them with tags and a single saved segment; three automations means a welcome series, a post-purchase follow-up and one more.

That is workable for a one-person business with one audience. It stops working when you run two brands, sell to both consumers and businesses, or want separate sequences for leads and customers. At that point you need Plus, and the pricing grid above tells you what it will cost.

Team access

AWeber's strongest argument is the user count on Plus: unlimited users on one plan, with no per-seat charge. Lite includes three users.

For comparison, Benchmark Pro includes one user and charges $15 a month for each extra, and GetResponse Starter includes three. A five-person marketing team on AWeber Plus pays the same as a one-person team, which is not true on most platforms we looked at. Our guide to B2B email marketing software compares seats across plans.

Selling through AWeber

AWeber includes tools to sell products and subscriptions from its landing pages and emails, with purchase tagging and sales tracking. The pricing page prints the transaction fee plainly: 1.0% on Lite and 0.6% on Plus.

That is a fee on top of whatever your payment processor charges, and it is worth knowing before you route sales through it. If you already sell through a store platform, you may prefer to connect it instead — AWeber lists integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, PayPal and WordPress among others.

The rest of the feature list

Beyond campaigns and automations, the plan comparison lists a drag-and-drop editor and HTML emails, RSS-to-email, dynamic content, AMP emails, split testing, an AI subject-line assistant and an AI writing assistant, landing pages, signup forms, a WordPress plugin, and web push notifications — up to 50,000 web push subscribers on Lite and unlimited on Plus.

We describe these as listed; we have not measured how any of them perform. Support is listed as 24/7 on both plans, with priority support on Plus, and AWeber lists a free migration service for accounts moving from elsewhere.

Where AWeber stands against the alternatives

On price at larger lists, AWeber is near the top of our table: at 25,000 subscribers Lite's $210 a month is the highest of the seven entry plans we priced, against $94.50 for EmailOctopus Pro and $174 for GetResponse Starter. At 100,000 its $600 is second only to Moosend Pro's $624.

AWeber's case rests on Plus, not Lite: the plan with no internal limits and no per-seat charge. If your team is one person with one list, a cheaper plan elsewhere will do the same job — see our ranking of the best email marketing software, where AWeber places fifth.

Setting up AWeber for bulk sending

Whatever plan you choose, set up authentication for your own sending domain before the first campaign. Google's sender guidelines require SPF, DKIM, DMARC and one-click unsubscribe from anyone sending more than 5,000 messages a day to Gmail accounts, and AWeber supplies the records to add for its service.

CAN-SPAM applies too: your postal address in every marketing email and opt-outs honoured within 10 business days. Keep the unsubscribe link AWeber adds; removing it is not a saving.

Who AWeber suits, and who it does not

AWeber suits a business with a team — a marketing lead, a salesperson, an assistant — who all need their own logins, and one that runs separate lists for separate audiences. For them, Plus removes every internal limit at a price that grows at a known rate.

It suits less well a one-person business watching the monthly bill closely: at 5,000 subscribers AWeber Lite's $60 a month buys less than EmailOctopus Pro's $31.50 or Sender Standard's $39, and Lite's caps arrive sooner than its price suggests.

Our verdict

Choose AWeber Plus if more than two or three people need access or you run several lists, and accept that you are paying for that freedom rather than for the lowest price. Choose Lite only if you are sure one list and three automations will do for a year.

If price is what matters most, the same list will cost less on EmailOctopus or Sender — our comparison of email marketing costs at 5k, 25k and 100k contacts shows by how much. If you want to try AWeber, the 14-day trial is the place to start: visit AWeber (partner link).
